PIRG (Public Interest Research Group) is a student activism group that works on a number of issues relating to the environment, campaign finance reform, corporate watchdog causes, and other issues. Every student is automatically billed $5 on their fee bill, which goes directly to PIRG. If you wish to waive the PIRG fee you must complete the waiver in the PeopleSoft Student Administration Database.

After logging in, navigate to Waive the UConn PIRG Fee by clicking:

• Self Service in the Menu, then Student Center.

  

• Under the Finances section, click the Student Permissions link from the drop down menu.

  

• The UCONN Student Permissions page displays. Click the PIRG Waiver link.

  

• You must click the "waive" checkbox and click the Create Waiver button for the waiver to be completed.
• To learn more about the activities supported by the UConnPirg donation, click on the Conn Prig Web Site link above the Create Waiver button.

  

• You will see the text "Waiver Successfully Created" just under your name if the waiver has been successfully created.
